In 1999, Luiz Carlos Trabuco was appointed the executive vice president of Bradesco Seguros, and four years later, he was made the president of the insurance unit of the group. It is his tenure as the president of Bradesco Seguros that Luiz Carlos Trabuco put his best foot forward. Some of the achievements he made include doubling the size of Bradesco Seguros, increasing the subsidiary’s revenue consequently growing the group’s revenues, and cementing the unit’s market leadership. From the presidency of Bradesco Seguros, Luiz Carlos Trabuco was appointed the general president of the group.

Luiz Carlos Trabuco seized the presidency of the group during a downturn in the global economic environment whose effects would undoubtedly trickle down to Brazil and affect the country’s financial sector. In fact, experts predicted that Bradesco would perform below par in 2009 than it did the previous year. Also, Itaú Unibanco was the new king in the private bank segment making Bradesco number two. In 2015, Luiz Carlos Trabuco announced that the bank was eyeing to acquire Brazil’s HSBC for $5.2 billion. The purchase later named the most significant transaction in Brazil in 2015, enabled Bradesco to match up to Itaú Unibanco in certain aspects such as branch network.

After serving for over seven years as the CEO, Luiz Carlos Trabuco was recently named the new chairman of Bradesco. He is replacing the 91-year-old Lazaro de Mello Brandao. Brandao was the chairman of Bradesco for 25 years. There is no doubt why he was chosen as the new chairman. Presently, he is both the president and chairman of the bank until next year March when a new CEO will commence his or her term in office.

Many experts believe that either Mauricio Machado de Minas, Alexandre da Silva Gluher, Domingos Figueiredo Abreu, Josué Augusto Pancini, Marcelo de Araujo Noronha, Octavio de Lazari, or André Rodrigues Cano will be the next CEO of the conglomerate.
