After spending two decades writing copy and working as a creative director for a number of Brazilian advertising agencies, Alexandre Gama decided to venture out on his own. While he was confident in his creative abilities, Gama had no idea just how successful he would be. His agency, Neogama, became the first agency to win a Golden Lion at the Cannes Film Festival in its first year of existence. In 2002, the company became the first Brazilian firm to win a Golden Lion in two main categories.
Alexandre Gama continues to win numerous awards as an entrepreneur and Neogama continues to pile up Golden Lions, winning 23 to date. If it weren’t for confidence in his own abilities, Gama may still be working for someone else today. Instead he bet on himself and the bet has paid off in spades, and he is now recognized as a leader in the industry.
